Acrylic Paint Brushes
Having the right brush for the job makes a real difference to your artwork and acrylic is a very versatile paint medium. There are a wide range of acrylic paint brushes to suit different painting requirements from stiffer filaments for impasto techniques and thicker paint application, and softer brushes for washes or thinner layers of acrylic paint.
Even with years of care and attention, your old acrylic brushes will eventually need replacing. You may also want to experiment with new styles and shapes to expand your collection or upgrade the quality of your brushes as your skills improve.
We stock a variety of different shaped acrylic brushes from large flat brushes which are perfect for background washes to tiny rounded brushes for fine detail. There are also fan brushes for blending or dry brush work and the ever useful tongue shaped filbert brushes.
It's not just the shape that differs but also handle length, filament size and material. The stiffer acrylic brushes will leave more painterly marks and are usually a modern version of hog bristles and the softer brushes are great for a smooth finish and come in a range of synthetics such as Nylon and Taklon.
The acrylic paint brush sizes range from the very small 0000 to the larger size 20 or more. The decorator style brushes come in mm or inches such 1/8 inch or 3 inches.
