How to stretch canvas for your canvas paintings is not difficult if you have the right tools. You need to stretch fabric, whatever you have chosen i.e. unprimed or primed, linen or canvas, with an even tension. Canvas pliers can help you.
If you are stretching primed linen, the canvas pliers with a rubber grip are a great help. Other fabrics are fine with the standard type, beware the painful thumb syndrome before your muscles get used to the workout! The stretched canvas you make yourself from our stretcher bars will look professional with neat turned corners. The staple remover can be a great asset for those times when re-stretching are necessary!
