What is Marbled Paper Used For?

Historically (and before mass printing) marbled papers have often been used as endpapers for books. This was a sheet of paper fixed into the beginning and end of a book as an internal decorative addition. Nowadays, they can be used for a whole variety of creative projects.

A popular use for marbled paper is to cover your plain sketchbooks or notebooks. Not only beautifully finishing them off, but giving a simple cover that extra personality. For example, you might choose a blue and green marbled paper that reminds you of the ocean and use this to cover a sketchbook created on a coastal holiday.

Gift wrap is another gorgeous use for marbled paper sheets. If you have a special gift, and want the wrapping to look and feel the part, you could pick a suitable marbled paper to wrap it in and delight the recipient.

Paper craft and collage are other fun and artistic uses for marbled paper. From making greetings cards, crafting paper flowers or bunting, to using sections in scrapbooking, and creating collage artworks, there are many ways you can use this decorative paper.

A Piece of Art in it's Own Right

Whilst we were selecting the marbled papers to have in our collection, we noticed how stunning they truly are. They could be considered works of art in their own right. If you find a design (or few) that you just fall in love with or that matches your interior decor, then you could frame and display them just like you would do with an art print or your own work.

As many of our sheet papers have a minimum order of 5 sheets, why not mix 'n' match from any papers of a similar size. Pick 5 or more of your favourite marbled paper sheets and you'll have a lovely collection to choose from when you want to get creative.
