Plasticine for Kids
Our selection of colourful plasticine offers hours of entertainment for little ones. They will enjoy squeezing and squashing the dough as well as building models of all sort of things. From the beginnings with learning to roll a sausage or a ball to using their fingers, to create petals for a flower, wings for dragons or even mini plastercine people.
Air Dry Clay for Kids
Air dry clay for kids is easy to use as you can simply sculpt your shapes or models, and then leave then to dry. No need to oven bake or send anything off to kilns! Great for at home projects and crafts. Newclay and DAS are some of our chosen brands of air dry clay and they are ready to use straight out of the packet. Once dried, it offers a hard durable surface which can then be decorated with paints or markers.
Oven Bake Modelling Clay
For more detailed works the oven bake modelling clay is a great option. You can also sand and polish oven hardened clays as well as carefully drill them if you were creating beads for example (something for the older kids and perhaps the adults to take care off). Oven baked clay hardens quicker than air dry clay and is often waterproof afterwards. This makes it ideal for projects such as homewares and jewellery, as well as sculptures and models and just for fun crafting days.
Plaster of Paris Gauze Strips
A bit different to clay, the plaster of Paris strips are versatile crafting materials for kids to try. Simply wet them and wrap around your chosen base, or subject, to cast or build a sculpture. From making making masks from someone's face to bowls from balloons, to chicken wire sculptures, or pipe cleaners and aluminimum foil characters, there are lots of ways to enjoy using this quick-drying material. Just remember to protect skin with vaseline or oil-based gel before application and use with adult supervision of course.
