High Quality Handmade Papers

Our range of handmade papers include a selection from Khadi who produce a stunning range from facilities in both India and Nepal. These include their own mill in India which provides employment for 50 skilled local men and women. You will certainly find their handmade papers inspiring. Unrivalled quality, fabulous textures and the rough and irregular nature of the material will lend great character to your work. The paper can be used for a wide variety of applications including drawing and card making and lends itself to bold brush work and striking, vibrant colours.

All the Khadi handmade papers are acid free to ensure that the structural integrity of the paper is maintained and to minimise any deterioration including yellowing and fading. A variety of textures and colours are available and we offer handmade papers featuring really quite exquisite bougainvillea flowers.

Khadi's Indian papers are fashioned from cotton rag whilst their Himalayan papers are produced from Lokta (Daphne bholua and Daphne papyracea bushes) bark fibres or Mitsumata (Edgeworthia chrysantha). Cotton rag is recycled from old t shirts and Lokta and Mitsumata are both renewable, sustainable materials. Khadi handmade paper is a responsible, earth friendly choice.

Smooth & Rough Texture Handmade Sheet Papers

The handmade paper collection features both smooth and rough sheet papers in various weights from 10gsm Thai mulberry paper sheets to the 320gsm 100% cotton rag sheets. The thickness and weight of paper is measured in gsm (Grams per Square Metre), so the more gsm a paper has, the thicker or heavier it is. If you would prefer to take individual sheets please bear in mind that minimum order levels apply. You can, however, mix and match papers from our entire range to achieve the order level required. Take a look at the product listing of each paper for guidance as to order quantities and any exclusions which may apply.
