Art paper is acid free as this minimises deterioration including yellowing and fading and maintains the structural integrity of the paper. Cotton papers are highly valued as they contain the strongest fibres which allow for erasing, scrubbing and scratching and cotton papers are earth friendly as they are often fashioned from recycled materials. Other papers are a mix of cotton and diverse fibres, lignin free and the best paper for your projects will depend on your media and style. We are always on hand to help you make your choice if you need further guidance.

Please note that many of our art papers are large sheets which present a challenge to pack and deliver. In consequence there is a minimum order level for these sheets but you can mix and match papers of a similar size to achieve that minimum number. Handmade Paper

We are particularly proud of our magnificent Khadi handmade paper collection. Handmade papers are rough and irregular, qualities which bring character and texture to your pieces and they are particularly suited to bold brush work and vibrant colours. Khadi papers are fashioned from cotton rag, Himalayan washi and natural lokti bark guaranteeing premium quality in a diverse range for a variety of applications.

Pastel Papers

The texture of pastel papers allows them to hold colour effectively allowing the artist to work without fixatives. Coloured pastel papers are lightfast and so will not fade. Both the paper and the paint remain as vibrant as when new or first applied. Our pastel papers from Art spectrum, Canson Mi Teintes, Pastelmat and Hahnmuhle offer the fabulous colours and textures you need to bring your dry media to life.

Specialist Papers

Our specialist papers offer exciting and new possibilities that are well worth exploring for student and professional artists as well as enthusiastic crafters. Our Japanese papers offer beautiful, innovative patterns and textures for painting, collage work and covering books. Clairefontaine Linen textured paper is a fabulous choice for work in oils and new to the range is the Arches Oil paper which is lightweight, easy to store, simple to frame and offers a surface which is ready to paint on without priming. Our collection also features Glassine paper and tissue for protecting your work and bags for paper storage.
