This workshop is for intermediate level artists looking to loosen up their portrait painting style.
On this workshop you will be working from direct observation in oils. Mark will demonstrate and guide you through his well-structured approach to painting a portrait from life,
breaking it down into easy-to-follow steps that will cover everything from the importance of values to working with a primary colour palette.
The workshop aims to help artists develop their paint and brush handling towards achieving expressive, yet realistic portraits in a more immediate way.
About Mark
Mark is an elected member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Oxford Art Society and Buckinghamshire Art Society.His work has been selected for exhibition with The Royal Society of Portrait Painters and The Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall galleries London. Recommended Equipment List
- One pre-primed canvas board or stretched canvas, size approximately 18” x 14”. Ground your canvas with a thin wash of acrylic or oil paint made up of burnt sienna lightened down to a light to mid tan with titanium white, must be dry on the day) We can prime the canvas for you at Pegasus for an extra cost of £2.50 on top of the price of the canvas.

- A selection of long handled short flat hog brushes in a range of even sizes from 2 – 12. Also a small round hog or synthetic brush size 1. (Brushes must be suitable for oil painting not watercolour or sable brushes.)

- A good size jam jar with a lid (or two!) to clean brushes and hold thinner.
- Rags or a kitchen roll to clean brushes and a plastic carrier bag to hold the dirty kitchen roll.
Please don’t forget to bring a packed lunch, snacks and water with you. There is tea and coffee available throughout the day.

Free UK Mainland Delivery on Orders Over £50*
*except 275cm and 300cm stretcher bars.
Delivery is charged as priced on each order (International delivery exceptions apply).
Standard Delivery: We aim to process and dispatch orders within two days. However at peak order times this may not always be possible so please allow 3-5 days for processing.
If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or they will drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred.

Click and collect is available at our Stroud shop. Please await our confirmation email before collecting. Proof of order required to pick up goods.

Returns
We hope you are very happy with every purchase from Pegasus Art however if you are not entirely satisfied we are here to help.
Please contact us by phone or email on info@pegasusart.co.uk. This is so one of our staff can determine whether you would like to return the product for a refund or exchange the product.
Returns
You have 28 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging.
Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
Once we have received your item and inspected it we will contact you.
If your return is approved, we will initiate an immediate exchange or refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.
Shipping
Products returned by you because of a defect will be refunded in full, including a refund of the delivery charges for sending the item to you and the cost incurred by you in returning the item to us.
Products returned by you within the seven-day cooling-off period will be refunded in full, including the cost of sending the item to you. However, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us.
