Learn how to start painting in acrylics – a highly versatile medium and ideal for beginners.

Painting in acrylics is not as daunting or tricky as one might think but needs key skills to enable the best results. In this class, you'll learn about using brushes and tips to help you grow your process. You will go home with a painting, after a day of truly getting to grips with acrylic painting. Working from the same still life, you’ll be fascinated by the mixture of results and a fun day had by all! Aimed at anyone who has never used acrylics or those who may need some refreshing.

About Max

Max has been teaching at Pegasus Art for five years and has built up a popular following of students. He attended Harrow School of Art where he studied Fine Art and was tutored by Ken Howard OBE RA. He became an apprentice illustrator in a London studio but found his way back to fine art, his true passion. He has been teaching for over twenty five years, whilst exhibiting and painting throughout. He writes for The Artist magazine, among others, and is an Ambassador for Royal Talens. He has had paintings exhibited in most areas of the country and many in London his passion to tutor and motivate others is obvious and works in all mediums. www.maxhaleart.co.uk

Recommended Equipment List

The shop will be open from 9am, so you will have time to purchase materials before the workshop.

Paint:

A set of acrylic paints any make. You only need a few colours to start these four are a must

Titanium white, Cadmium yellow, Cadmium red , Cobalt blue.

These are extra colours if you would like to invest: Lemon yellow, Ultramarine blue, Sap green, Yellow ochre, Alizarin Crimson , Raw Umber

Brushes:

You’ll need three brushes as a minimum requirement, but please bring more if you wish.

Size ten flat hog, Size eight filbert synthetic, Size six flat synthetic

Palette:

Ground:

Other:

A rag to wipe your brushes

Please do not bring paper towels or similar they are unsuitable

A water pot

A painting shirt or apron.

Easels, boards and small side tables all supplied by Pegasus Art.

Please bring a packed lunch, water and snacks – tea and coffee will be available all day.

Free UK Mainland Delivery on Orders Over £50*
*except 275cm and 300cm stretcher bars.

Delivery is charged as priced on each order (International delivery exceptions apply).

Standard Delivery: We aim to process and dispatch orders within two days. However at peak order times this may not always be possible so please allow 3-5 days for processing.

If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or they will drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred.

Click and Collect Available

Click and collect is available at our Stroud shop. Please await our confirmation email before collecting. Proof of order required to pick up goods.

Returns

We hope you are very happy with every purchase from Pegasus Art however if you are not entirely satisfied we are here to help.

Please contact us by phone or email on info@pegasusart.co.uk. This is so one of our staff can determine whether you would like to return the product for a refund or exchange the product.

Returns

You have 28 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging.

Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds

Once we have received your item and inspected it we will contact you.

If your return is approved, we will initiate an immediate exchange or refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.

Shipping

Products returned by you because of a defect will be refunded in full, including a refund of the delivery charges for sending the item to you and the cost incurred by you in returning the item to us.

Products returned by you within the seven-day cooling-off period will be refunded in full, including the cost of sending the item to you. However, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us.
