We are delighted to bring you our fabulous collection of Japanese papers. At Pegasus Art we are very proud of our paper collection which features the highest quality art paper and a range of rare, unusual and handmade papers from across the world that are sure to excite your creative spirit.

Patterned Japanese Paper

Chiyogami papers feature fabulous silk screened designs which are reminiscent of the wonderful Japanese textiles used in Kimonos. The intense colours in these patterned Japanese papers are truly striking and these papers are ideal for creating backgrounds for artwork, covering books, lining envelopes, origami, card making and lampshades. We are sure that you will discover many other applications for these inspiring designs.

Japanese Tissue Paper

Gampi paper is made from the bark of the plant and is notable for its richness and longevity. Gampi silk tissue has a wonderful natural sheen and is used in book conservation and Chine- collé printmaking. The natural sized finish of this very thin, translucent tissue does not blend when written or painted on. Gampi paper is from the same family as Washi paper which is a traditional variety made from the long inner fibres of three plants. The Pegasus Art collection includes a range of Japanese tissue papers suitable for painting, drawing and printmaking.

We would also like to introduce you to the gorgeous Sakura Smoke Lace and Seikaiha Lace tissues which are ideal for collage, card making, invitations, lampshades and wrapping. Our collection also includes Shoji papers which can be used for calligraphy and print making but which also have a number of interior design applications including window coverings, stained glass effect hangings and lamps.

Min Order 5 Sheets - Mix & Match

Some of our sheet papers are subject to minimum orders and these are highlighted on the individual product listings. Some papers in the collection can be mixed and matched to achieve the minimum order required.
