Winsor & Newton Artist Quality Oils - Individual Oil Colours 37ml Size
PA0347-003
Description
The Artists Oil Colour range from Winsor & Newton offers a stable range of 120 colours. The range of oil paints from Winsor & Newton is universally popular and can be relied upon to be good quality. The paints have a stiff buttery consistency which can retain brush or palette knife marks or can be thinned to the very finest of glazes. Winsor & Newton Artists Oil Colours are available in 120 colours.
Winsor & Newton use the purest of pigments ensuring cleaner, brighter colours. This ensures the best colour mixes.
All the Colours and the Underpainting White are ground with linseed oil.
The other whites in the Winsor & Newton range are combined with Safflower Oil.
Drying Rates - All colours will become touch dry in thin films in 2-12 days
Variable Opacity - The colours are marked to reflect the characteristics of the various pigments e.g. opaque, semi-opaque, semi-transparent and transparent. However transparency is relative and the information is provided as a guide only. Any thin film of colour will appear more transparent than a thicker one.
Permanence - Of the 120 Colours in the range, 119 are now classed as 'permanent for artists' use which aids in the longevity of paintings. Alizarin Crimson is only given a 'moderately durable' rating but is still considered a key colour for many contemporary artists.
