The legacy and integrity of Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors is built upon its commitment to develop paint out of a constant dialog with artists; responding to artists' needs. The introduction of its first line of Special Edition Colors - four Neutral Grays (N2, N4, N6, N8) began as an email request from an artist and quickly evolved from there!
There are several things that Williamsburg Handmade Oils is known for - its range of colors, the differences in grind, an attention to detail and emphasis on small batch production or simply, the sheer sensuousness of the paint. Less well known are the conversations with artists searching for things they cannot find elsewhere, or with materials that possess some unique presence. Sometimes these requests lead to a larger opportunity. The development of the Special Edition Neutral Grays is just one example of where the conversation can go.
Ground in alkali-refined linseed oil, the Neutral Grays use a combination of Titanium White, Lamp Black, and small amounts of various iron oxides (Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna) to pull the otherwise too-cool mixtures towards neutral. It took great finesse from the Lab, with the goal to always track as tightly as possible, the spectral curves generated from an official, newly minted set of Munsell Grays.
The new Williamsburg Grays match the Munsell values nearly flawlessly across the spectrum. The fact that any attempt at Munsell equivalents are constantly compared to such exacting, universal model is what sets these colors apart. The Munsell Grays are meant to form an objective and known scale that any other color can be measured against. Incorporated as part of one's palette, they can allow a painter to adjust a color's chroma in a repeatable and precise way that is simply not attainable otherwise.

Developed by Carl Plansky in the 1980s, each colour is ground to enhance the beauty and luminousity specific to that particular pigment. Thursday 19th December - Last day for standard post - order by 12 noon.
Friday 20th December - Last day for courier deliveries - order by 10am.
If we use a courier for a small package on 20th December there will be an exrta charge - we will contact you.
NB:We will do our best to delivery goods efficiently but cannot guarantee it.
Free UK Mainland Delivery on Orders Over £50*
*except 250cm, 275cm and 300cm stretcher bars.
Delivery is charged as priced on each order (International delivery exceptions apply).
Standard Delivery: We aim to process and dispatch orders within two days. However at peak order times this may not always be possible so please allow 3-5 days for processing. Deliveries outside of UK will take longer to arrive at their destination.
If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or they will drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred.

Returns
You have 28 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging.
Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
Once we have received your item and inspected it we will contact you.
If your return is approved, we will initiate an immediate exchange or refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.
Shipping
Products returned by you because of a defect will be refunded in full, including a refund of the delivery charges for sending the item to you and the cost incurred by you in returning the item to us.
Products returned by you within the seven-day cooling-off period will be refunded in full, including the cost of sending the item to you. However, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us.
