SUPPLIERS OF THE FINEST ART MATERIALS

Canson

Established in 1557, Canson boasts an exceptional heritage. The papers have always been made in Annonay France and Canson continues to use 500 years of knowledge and experience to create impressive fine art papers.

About Canson

Interestingly, for much of its history, Canson was controlled by the Montgolfier family who also pioneered manned flight and produced the first hot air balloon. Quite a claim to fame! Across the generations Canson has nurtured the skills of exceptional craftsmen but has also valued innovation. The company developed tracing paper in 1807 and then created Mi-Teintes, the first dyed paper.

Many great artists have used Canson papers including Delacroix, Van Gogh, Degas, Matisse, Picasso, Dali, Warhol, Jean-Michel Alberola, Toguo, Philippe Starck and Yan Pei-Ming. Canson has created special relationships with many artists and has produced papers specifically for individual artists such as Ingres and Maillol. Today the collection features the perfect papers for leading artists, amateurs and children.
