5th Oct Dreamy Watercolour Landscapes with Colin Joyce
Dreamy watercolour landscapes with well known Scottish Artist Colin Joyce
Saturday 5th October
10am – 4pm
All abilities welcome
We are delighted to welcome experienced painter, Colin Joyce, to teach this watercolour landscapes workshop at Pegasus Art. His aim is that you have a really enjoyable day, working from images that really mean something to you. This love for your subject and/or place will shine through in the work, Colin says “Having that connection means you paint from the heart.”
“I want you to be able to capture the essence of your scene without getting bogged down in unnecessary detail. This involves working with a limited palette of colour and large brushes. You may possibly go away with two completed paintings, but certainly one.
Two things contribute to poor results in watercolour painting – paper quality and paint quality. I strongly recommend using 100% cotton rag paper and artist quality colours.
Colin has been working in watercolour for many years. Having studied art at school, then part time at college, he pursued a career in Financial Services for thirty eight years, painting in his spare time. He took early retirement in 2013 to concentrate on painting full time. Colin writes for the Leisure Painter magazine and is a regular watercolour instructor on cruise ships and for painting holiday company, Arte Umbria. He runs his own workshops from Fife and also teaches across the UK. www.colinjoyceart.com
