POSTPONED - NEW DATE 10th APRIL 2021
Oil Painting using Cold Wax Medium with Nicki Heenan
Saturday 2nd May 2020
Attic Studios, Pegasus Art
10am – 4pm
All abilities welcome from beginners to intermediate
This one day workshop is for painters who would like to explore the variety of techniques possible using Cold Wax Medium. The day is structured into several tasks to learn how to mix cold wax into your paint and create different surfaces using the medium. Colour theory will be discussed as well as using tonality to boost the visual impact of your work. Don’t be afraid if you are new to oil painting as working with cold wax is fun and very rewarding once you have learnt the basics.
Born in London, Nicki Heenan moved to New-Zealand as a child. She studied Microbiology (MSc hons) at Auckland University, Art and Music. These areas of learning have formed an integral part of her work as an artist where the experimental methods of science are combined with an abstract visualisation of the landscape.
Nicki’s paintings are very much influenced by surface and substance. Colour is rendered in multi dimensional soft layers with glazing and wax infused with dry pigment. Nicki works in oil, cold wax, acrylic and watercolour. www.nickiheenan.com
