26th May Beginners Life Drawing with Fiona McIntyre MA
Beginners Life Drawing with Fiona McIntyre MA
Saturday 26th May 2018
10am – 4pm
Join our NEW beginners Life Drawing workshops with experienced tutor Fiona McIntyre. Suitable for complete beginners, those who have never drawn directly from the human form. Students who are keen to refresh their skills are most welcome.
With the help of a plastic skeleton, the class will get an introduction to anatomy, followed by rapid sketching exercises to help students to warm up, get out of their ruts and respond more authentically.
The workshop starts at 10am, with short poses until 12.30pm, when we stop for lunch. The model will have a good break and start again at 1.30pm. We will work until 3.30pm and have the chance for positive critique and finishing work until 4pm.
Fiona McIntyre studied at Edinburgh College of Art, followed by Malmö and an M.A from Winchester. She is a figurative/landscape painter and member of the Arborealists with work represented in various public, corporate and private collections in the UK and Scandinavia. She is currently exhibiting in France at Dortoir des Moines de Saint-Benoit, Poitiers and in a major exhibition at Southampton City Art Gallery in - 'Capture the Castle, Turner to Le Brun'. She is co-author with Dr Alan Wilkinson of "Fiona McIntyre: A Tree Within", published 2016 (Sansom & Co) and recently gave an illustrated talk on her art for a book signing event at Waterstones, Gower Street.
All students will need to bring in the following:
