Open to all abilities, beginners are most welcome
Taking tips and inspiration from Renaissance, modern and contemporary artists, learn how to create dynamic and rich drawings of simple subject matter. Contrast is key and by the end of the day you will return home with work that is filled with light, shadow and form.
Improve your observational skills – an essential practice for visual art.
Dan will provide an interesting group of still life objects.
Dan McDermott has twenty years experience as a professional artist working primarily in drawing and painting. He is an experienced and encouraging tutor, currently teaching at Stroud College. He has exhibited extensively and has over three hundred works and commissions in private and corporate art collections worldwide.
All students will need to bring in the following:
A2 Cartridge drawing paper
An A2 drawing board
Willow Charcoal, medium and thick size
A putty rubber or normal eraser
A packed lunch – there is no café at Griffin Mill
All workshop attendees receive an extra 5% off art materials from our extensive shop next to Studio One. The shop is open from 9am, so please do come before the workshop to purchase what you need.
