11th Jan Paint Still Life & Learn Texture with Max Hale
Paint still life and learn ‘texture’ in oils and acrylics with Max Hale
Saturday 11th January 2020
10am – 4pm Studio One
All abilities welcome.
Still Life painting with a focus on textures
Experienced tutor, Max Hale, will tutor you through some simple methods of capturing the many textures within a still life. Texture in a painting can be a daunting prospect, but it’s easier than you think. In this one day workshop we will be looking at how we capture glass, chrome, water, linen, towelling, cotton, wood, basket weave and other similar textures. In many ways, texture is a way of learning brush strokes and how simple strokes or scrapes, scumbles or placements can bring results you may not have believed!
This workshop is suitable for beginners and students with some previous painting experience. It crosses many boundaries as it is not often taught in a way that makes it easy to understand.
Max has been teaching at Pegasus Art for four years and has built up a popular following of students. He attended Harrow School of Art where he studied Fine Art and was tutored by Ken Howard OBE RA. He became an apprentice illustrator in a London studio but found his way back to fine art, his true passion. He has been teaching for over twenty five years, whilst exhibiting and painting throughout. He writes for The Artist magazine, among others, and is an Ambassador for Royal Talens. He has had paintings exhibited in most areas of the country and many in London his passion to tutor and motivate others is obvious and works in all mediums. www.maxhaleart.co.uk
All attendees receive 5% off in our shop adjacent to Studio One at Pegasus Art.
