At Pegasus Art we stock the better quality canvases.  The artist canvases are currently either Loxley Gold or Angelo.  Both of these manufacturers use a thicker (higher weight) canvas fabric. Each canvas frame is universally acrylic primed and suitable for acrylic painting or oil painting.  The tight weave of the cotton canvas fabric  creates a good surface for painting.
