‘Painting from the Life Model’ with experienced artist Lucy Orchard starting Monday mornings from 1st March.

Designed for those who would like to develop their figure painting skills, working from a sustained pose over a number of weeks.  There will be practical and inspirational guidance from Lucy on painting techniques, form, tone and colour towards your own personal expression.

'Drawing Afternoons at Pegasus' - Kerry Phippen starts her 2nd set of relaxed encouraging classes on Monday 22nd February 2010.  Suitable for nervous amateurs, through to the more experienced who would like the peer support of a drawing group.  The course is aimed at those who would like to strengthen their drawing ability.   *****New*****       Call 01453 886560 to reserve your place                                                                                                                   

'Life Drawing' with Sue Rae – Tuesday 9.30 – 12.30  Well known Stroud College tutor Sue Rae leads these Life Drawing classes, guiding her students to discover their individual styles and potential. Students should have some previous Life Drawing experience.                                          Cost £85 – 6 weeks : £130 – 10 weeks     Waiting List only

'Drawing,Painting & Mixed Media' with Sue Rae – Tuesday 1.30-4.30pm A course designed for students who already have some experience but wish to develop skills and explore individual ways of working. Emphasis firstly on drawing, followed by an exploration of materials and subject matter will lead on to projects. Students can also initiate their own project and choice of materials with guidance from the tutor.                                                                                             Cost £120 - 10 weeks  Waiting list only

'The Fundamentals of Oil Painting'  Wednesday mornings starting 27th January.   A new class starting with experienced art teacher Yola Quinn. The aim is to create 'a palette' for painting, learning to use subtlety of tone and glazing. These classes will last until the middle of April, you can sign on for six weeks or more. Colourful Pastels on Colourful Paper - Landscape Panoramas' starting 21st April 2010 9.30 - 12 noon  Sandi Leir-Shuffrey  will be running her popular sessions again having taken time off to write a commisioned book. 'Extreme Poses' – Life Drawing with Paul Fowler Thursday am and evenings continuing. Paul’s popular sessions continue. Using trapeze ropes, his intrepid models balance in the air, creating challenges for artists to capture the foreshortening and explore the form and weight of the body. 'Developing skills and creativity in painting' 9am – 12 noon  the 15th January 2010 with Rob Collins RCA.  Develop your painting skills and find ways of working that suit you as an individual, whether you are a complete beginner or someone with experience working in isolation who needs guidance and motivation. Rob will set up a still life each week but expects artists to work from their own source materials or on self-motivated projects. Aim is to develop the individual creativity in each student. Rob will also guide and encourage students toward exhibiting their work when they are ready.
