Canvas Making Workshop ' Learn practical tips to make a professional quality canvas' with Chris Bingle - Date Coming Soon

We are delighted that Chris Bingle has agreed to run another practical skill workshop for this essential artist skill.

  Starting at the beginning Chris will show you how to put the stretcher bars together and the tips to make sure your

Canvs Making Workshopstretcher bar frame is absolutely square.  Stretching the canvas, stapling the fabric to get the correct tension and getting

the corners perfect for that professional look will all be demonstrated.  At the end of the morning you will have your

own canvas to take home.  We limited the workshop to 6 people so everyone can get personal attention from Chris.

These superb watercolour classes are designed to appeal to those who have always wanted to learn as well as those more experienced watercolourists who want to pick up a few tips. Richard uses an approach where you learn all the traditional but simplified techniques.

What to bring: Richard will supply all necessary equipment for the first lesson and advise you what to purchase and that doesn't need to be expensive.  If you already have your own paints then please bring them along.

Sue's popular life drawing classes are starting soon and as usual Sue is bringing her professional expertise and inspirational style of teaching to her classes. Designed for artists with some experience, explore and interpretate the figure in a variety of media.

Alison aims to develop your drawing and painting in an enjoyable, relaxed class.  She will inspire you to try different materials, media and techniques.  Classes are suitable for all levels of experience.  Alison teaches and runs workshops for Art Centres, Art Groups and recently for the Artist and Illustrator magazine. 


After School Class - Drawing Skills for 8 - 12 year olds with Alison Vickery  3.50 - 4.50    6 weeks   Cost £60     Start May 2013

Each week you will explore a different aspect of drawing.  Our aim is to develop observation, interpretation, imagination, use of media and more .....have fun.  Alison is an experienced teacher to children in schools and is a member of the Gloucestershire Art for Schools. 


'Extreme Poses' – Life Drawing with Paul Fowler   6 week course  Choice of 2 sessions :  Thursday  9.30am - 12.30   Cost £126         or  7pm - 9pm Cost £84      New Term starts May

Paul’s popular sessions continue in this original format; using climbing ropes, his intrepid models balance in the air, creating challenges for artists to capture the foreshortening and explore the form and weight of the body. 


'Developing skills and creativity in painting'  with Rob Collins  MA RCA   7 week course     Choice of 2 sessions:  Friday 9am - 12noon   Cost £105  :  1pm - 4pm   Cost £105   New Term starts May - Join in anytime

Develop your painting skills and find ways of working that suit you as an individual, whether you are a complete beginner or someone with experience working in isolation who needs guidance and motivation. Rob will set up a still life each week but expects artists to work from their own source materials or on self-motivated projects. Aim is to develop the individual creativity in each student. Rob will also guide and encourage students toward exhibiting their work when they are ready.

A structured drawing course suitable for all levels.  Each week we will look at a different aspect of drawing, referring to drawings by a variety of artists as inspiration.  We will mainly work from observation on set ups in Studio One but will also talk about more imaginative and narrative types of drawing.


Nadeem Akram trained in fine art at the New York Studio School, Camberwell College of Arts and on the Prince's Drawing School's 'Drawing Year' postgraduate programme.
